Our meal in Figeac

We are in Fiigeac. A lovely medieval town which is very well preserved. It certainly exceeds Conque in every way. We walked 25 kTo get here which included up and down 2 mountains. We went to a medium priced restaurant which specialised in buck wheat pancakes and hence the photo. 12.50 E.

Our last few days

Congues is an interesting town but because of the heavy tourist load it was expensive - none the less we found a gite at E12 each per night. We had to arrange weefee for our emails so spent sometime in either the Hotel or the Tourist Office. My blisters are well under control now but were a problem for some days - the specialised cover pads they sell lasted about 3days and seemed to improve healing despite continued walking.
The voluntary wayside stop gave us a cup of coffee and enjoyed out banter about Australia - the two sitting next to Tim are fellow "Pilgrim" walkers.
Today we have arrived in Figeac -staying in the middle of town in a good gite at E20 each. To this point have covered 250 Kms in 12 days walking. Consistent rain for most of yesterday and today with temp around 18C and fluctuating up.
Off for restaurant dinner,
Geoff

A few more photos on our walk into Congues

Congues

With SFR failing to give me the 30 day cover I paid for in Paris, Tim and I have to attend Hotel/Restaurants to get weefee. I was quite chuffed to receive an email copy of a reply from JG re my thanks for her 3 years of endeavour as PM. Tim and I have picked out the suitable photo - just not sure who it applies to !?
We have heard the election has been called and it seems no one in Congues is interested!!

Estaing

Fancy a recipe from Geoff and healthy. Estaing is a beautiful town with ancient castle and church.
The home town of Valerey D Estaing  of the former president of France. We stayed at the Bishops
gite. very welcoming. another first for Geoff was that he went to evening prayers with me. bloody hell
We are now having dinner in Golinhac and then to Espyrac

Our night at the local Market

We enjoyed dinner at the Saint Chely d'Aubrec market to farewell several fellow travellers.
Local wine and veal with a potato concoction made for a good night as we fare welled Laurent, Sophie, Anne and Pauline.
