Our lunch of Farcous

About 5 Km from Espalion we came across a small luncheon enterprise. Several hours earlier we met a woman with a handful of spinach in preparation for her family lunch.
We were offered the same dish and now publish the recipe.....
The dish is known as Farcous and is made with.....
500 g. Flour
8 eggs
Half litre of milk
Parsley
Chard / Spinach.
The woman earlier added old bread to give it body. We both enjoyed the lunch.

Best photo yet?

We are in a Hotel tonight in Saint-Chely-d'Aubrac only so we can use the "wifi" for these communications. Our stats so far are.......
    Six days walking
    Distance covered - 132 Km
    Distance budgeted @ 18 Km.
Kms in the bank = 24 Km

My favourite photo so far..........

Laurent and Sophie cook our tea in the Gite at Nasbinals

L and S are on the Way for another week and then returning to Paris. They enjoy cooking and this was our first group meal - very much appreciated.

Some of our friends who have now walked on.....

When we walk in at about 3 or 4 pm you can bet there will be a small group around a table outside a restaurant before heading to a Gite.

They were quicker than us!

Two families of children passed us on the track with all the suitable and small packs. It was the Dads who met them at the end while the Mums slaved up the hills. Great to see them relaxing around the horse trough at the end.

The Aubrac plateau

We have walked in this area for 3 days as we make our way SW towards th Congues. The highest point on our track was 1324 m. with  snow for 4 months of the year.

Tim camping out with some walkers.

I had to forego the camping and get my blister attended - also posted home the sleeping bag and several other things to bring the pack weight. Tim has now also posted home his s/b -we realised that with such distances the weight should be about 12 Kg and that is now the case. The Gites we stay in are quite reasonable at say 12 to 14 Euro with plenty of vacancies so far.
